Blurb now makes eBooks! They are optimized to be used with Apple products like the iPad. I’m excited about this and I can’t wait to make one of my own. I’ll probably do it as soon as I have a minute to myself. This would be an awesome way to show a portfolio. Hey, you can’t beat the price either, just $1.99!

Event photography

So today I volunteered to photograph an event at my church. I was so exhausted when I woke up since I had been busy painting one of my final projects for my studio art class. I was painting until 5 AM and got up at 9 AM. I took as many photos as I could. I primarily used my 18-50mm and 35mm lenses. I was happy to photograph the event. I hope that they keep me in mind for the future. I wouldn’t mind doing it again.

Unexpectedly, it may have lead me to another opportunity. I continue to be blessed and I can only thank God for any opportunity that comes my way.

Tamron Events

Tamron is having a one day seminar tour. It’s hitting a few cities.. Seattle, Los Angeles, Chicago and New York City. Looks like it might be worth the time. The download-able brochure has a list of topics. Some of the topics that caught my attention are ‘Using Lenses to Enhance your Creative Composition’, ‘Speak Geek: A Basic Digital Dictionary’, and ‘The Most Important Camera Settings’. There will be a seminar led by Sandra Nykerk (www.sandranykerk.com).. not too interested in that seminar which is called ‘Basic Editing Skill & Sandra’s Favorite “Stones”’. I know Photoshop, but you never know what else you can learn from people in the field. Anyway, the seminar is $59.. not bad and includes snacks, drinks and a ‘welcome bag’ which I’d hope has some goodies in it :D Check it out.
