CAMERA CRACK

I am an artist, college student, wife, mother, New Yorker, amateur photographer and vintage camera enthusiast. Trying to figure out my niche in the photography world, and hopefully take my place in it.

Blurb now makes eBooks! They are optimized to be used with Apple products like the iPad. I’m excited about this and I can’t wait to make one of my own. I’ll probably do it as soon as I have a minute to myself. This would be an awesome way to show a portfolio. Hey, you can’t beat the price either, just $1.99!

PDN Photo Plus Expo

Who’s looking forward to the PDN Expo? This girl! The first day of the Expo, I have my very first portfolio review, happening at B&H by Maine Media. I spent the past two days researching hosting and domain services. I have found one of each. I have designed a business card and I’m ready to go. I’m afraid to actually take the dive and do it but I guess that’s because it means I’m going somewhere with this since I am moving forward with this. It’s a big step for me.

I’m also attending the FroKnowsPhoto Meet up after the expo. Should be fun rubbing elbows with other Nikon users. (By the way, PDN expo and the meet up are free!)

Permalink I don’t know what type of flowers these are. These were growing out on the porch. The local squirrels enjoy digging these up. Thankfully they have survived every attack and I’ll hopefully see them again next spring.

Permalink Isn’t she beautiful? She is my life.
I found this tutorial on how to create a faux daguerreotype in Photoshop. Here is the result I got. I used a photo I took of my little girl a few months back. It was originally a film photo (Tmax 100, Olympus OM10, 50mm lens). If you know Photoshop, it’s not hard to follow at all.
Try it :)

Happy Mother’s Day to all my followers! Enjoy your day :)

T-Max 100

This turned out so well. I caught my little model in a perfect moment at just the right shutter speed to create this soft and gentle photo.
Wish I had remembered to write down all my settings for this roll.

Permalink I want this. I know that it defeats the purpose, however.. isn’t that what people say about the Diana F+ or any Lomo camera or any Lo-Fi digital camera like the Biscuit? It’s all in good fun but I see more potential in this.
I don’t know about you guys, but I love anything that can help extend the life span of all my vintage cameras. Whoever invented this is genius. If the price is decent, I’d get a 12 MP cartridge in a heart beat!

IF THIS ACTUALLY HAPPENS I CANNOT EVEN I CANNOT EVEN

doesn’t this kind of defeat the point of a film camera though…
